I had a bad experience doing my advanced open water course.
I contacted PADI, because I had a bad experience with one of their dive instructors.
I already contacted PADI before about this case, but the problem has not been solved and I have now been charged and unfairly received no certificate.
In 2019 I went on a boat in Tahiti to do my advanced open water certification.
I spent 3 months aboard the danish boat Moana with the PADI instructor Mikael Rafn.
Me and others were seriously upset and disappointed in the experience we received. He was extremely unprofessional, not only getting aggressive with me and other learners on the boat, but also spending a very little amount of time actually educating or teaching us about diving.
But it turned out we all got certified anyway - and we paid for it.
I wrote an email to PADI about his behavior and his way to teach us diving, and it turned out that they took away my open water advanced certificate without a refund, stating to me “Because as said, the training was not good enough”.
It was not only not good enough but unprofessional, selfish and not up to the standard of a PADI certified instructor.
I still don’t understand how the situation could follow this course. They took away my certification and didn’t make him pay me back. What are the repercussions for him and why am I receiving no compensation as a paying customer, even just the ability to complete my advanced open water with another PADI instructor for free?

I was just honest and told them that there was a problem with one of their instructors.
Still don’t get why I should get punished for it.
Hope they one day will reconsider this case, because I don’t feel it as closed at all.
I just want to have my certificate back or my money back - because I did all I had to do, the only problem was his behavior.
I still did the course and paid for it.

PADI = Put Another Dollar In
If PADI wa restaurant they'd charge you for the ice in your water and for the fork you need to eat your food with.
You can get a better product at a better price by going with any other certifying agency. I regret the thousands I have already spent with them and will never do business with them again.

Website SUCKS!!!

Currently trying to complete my online Open Water Diver Course and this website is TERRIBLE!!!!!!! I wanted to get it done in 2-3 days, at this rate it's going to take me over a week since the website takes forever to load and keeps crashing. How difficult is it to get a good working website???

Padi app is dreadful with multiple bugs

PADI app is dreadful. For a start, it won’t accept my address in the UAE because it doesn’t conform to “normal” standards - Hey PADI, pretty sure I know my address better than you!
Dive log is utterly useless. I have input the details 6 times for the last 2 dives. Each time all it actually saves is the dive name and site from the 30 or so fields. Every additional field is set back to zero/default. What an utter waste of my time. In the “general” section having filled everything out it gives a red warning for missing information yet gives no explanation.
Having effectively secured a global monopoly on dive training you would think PADI had the money to produce a correctly operating app and test it before release? Perhaps that is too much to expect...
Excellent fun diving in Fujairah for the last few days though.

Terrible App / Absurd Prices

The App is terrible. Period. With all the money PADI charges you would think they would have a world class app.
I used to be able to access my list of certs thru ScubaEarth - now you need to pay an obscene amount - $46 I believe - for an E-CARD when I already spent hundreds on a course.
Highway Robbery.
First, fix your app. Then, stop raking people over the coals on things like e-cards.
Embarrassing.

Utter sh_t the app.

All my dives disappeared from the logbook. The app is incredibly unstable. My certificates is not showing correctly. PADI webmaster tells me I’m the only one experiencing problems... when I read here I realize they are simply lying. If it wasn’t for the fact I have a great instructor I would not use PADI!
And the fact that PADI has 88% bad reviews and still not doing anything about it! Makes me really wonder. And they simply answer the bad reviews with a standadmessage where you easily can tell they didn’t even bother to read your review.

I had a good experience with instructor JORDAN in Cairns aboard Marine World. She has a lot of patience and explains very well. responsible and fun

One word about using PADI E-learning...DON'T!

What I've learned is to be careful when purchasing a PADI e-learning course on their website and then going to a dive school for the practical training and dives. You could end up paying A LOT more than just buying the whole course from the dive school directly! Do your homework and compare the costs first. I made the mistake of purchasing a PADI e-learning speciality online, even at a 25% "discount", but ended up paying USD 56 more for the whole course then if I had just dealt directly with the dive school. Not to mention going through the e-learning program was a terrible experience. Page kept crashing even on different browsers and had to log in about 10 times just to complete it.

An excellent company

An excellent company, with a team who have been extremely professional during this Pandemic and I thank all the team for their help and support. I look forward to when this Pandemic is over, and we can back to booking dive holidays without the fear of not being able to go on the holiday. I have cancelled two live-a-board holidays this year and the Padi.com team were excellent and very supportive. Great work and thank you, let us hope 2021 is better for us all, fingers crossed it will be a Happy New Year.

Was doing the final exam of the…

Was doing the final exam of the E-learns and have booked my inpool and dive session to complete the certificate when the website crashed and now it says my account does not exist. Such a terrible experience.

the padi website is nonsense

the padi website is nonsense - for such a reputable company to have a site that is a dead end and not working is so frustrating all i want to do is purchase a gift card for elearning and pass it on to a friend.
i want to something so simple on this site and give them more of my money in doing so and padi has made it impossible to complete.
padi, fix your nonsense of a website

Absolute sh!t show and p!ss poor…

Absolute sh!t show and p!ss poor service.
Cannot log into the app or via web page . When i reached out for tech support they palmed me off to a firm who wanted to change me money and wanted my credit card details. I thought this was a scam and left the page when i reached out a second time and told them i won't be handing over money or my credit card details they directed me to the same payment page . I can't help but notice there are several other negative reviews. How can one organisation be so useless
